The Jack Chronicles

Day 3, August 23, 2009

Today was a relatively quiet day. We got up around 7:30 (why won't the boy sleep later than that?) and had some very serious cuddle time on the couch. Jack, Uncle Bags, Cris & Aunt T all curled up on the couch for a while this morning while Emmie got some precious beauty sleep.

Then, around noon, Oma & Granddad came over for lunch and some hang time. Jack went down for a nap around 1:30 (Cris & Em put him down - as usual) and he slept until around 4:30.

After nap time, Cris was able to dig out a huge box filled with Thomas trains & tracks. All three kids spent about 2 hours playing with Thomas and his friends and built some excellent tracks.

This guy ate like a CHAMP - so did Emmie for that matter! Mashed potatoes, carrots (Jack had 3 helpings) & chicken cutlets (Emmie had 5 helpings of chicken! WTH?) Cris ate like the growing boy that he is!

I am about to clean the kitchen, but would like to mention that we worked with the boy on a couple of basics that are requisites in the Baguer household.

And then, of course, the inevitable (which, BTW, he picked up in no time at all!):

THE HOST WITH THE MOST: When Oma & Granddad came over and Jack hear their voices, he opened the front door before he could even see them and welcomed them into the house!

PROUDEST UNCLE BAGS MOMENT: Jack screaming "Go Irish" at the top of his lungs tonight!

ONLY VIOLENT ACT OF THE DAY: Literally crushing the Lincoln Logs can over Emmie's head. Now, you may think I'm exaggerating, but trust me, he nearly crushed it in half over her head. Now, the boy has to be learning this stuff somewhere, and what we'd like to know is, what the hell is going on in your house????

SWEETEST HOUR: Jack curled up with Uncle Bags, then Cushion (a.k.a. Cristian), and Aunt T this morning and giving us some serious lovin'.

Tomorrow, it's off to see his Great Grandmother & spend some QT with her. Looking forward to a nice day with Oma & DeeDee. Miss & love you!!! xoxoxoxo

ps - Jack said you better bring him home something good! :)
